A Food for Change community

Our community

Falmouth is packed with activities for you to get involved in.

Whatever you’re interested in, whether it’s starting a career in the food industry, learning practical cooking skills or making new friends in your community, we’ve got it covered!

Helping to develop the growing spaces in the Draceana Centre and within the Falmouth community.

Cook.

FoodWorks – a six-part cooking course, where people can learn to make tasty, healthy food on a budget. People can also gain qualifications, such as the Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene certificate.

A weekly cooking club where people can cook in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Trade.

Volunteering in the Draceana Centre café and with Volunteer Cornwall.

Exciting workshops to learn new skills as well as opportunities to visit local businesses and learn more about the available employment options.

Brunch job sessions, with support on searching for jobs and preparing for interviews.

Mentors

Everyone who joins Food for Change is teamed up with a Food for Change Mentor, who will guide people through the programme – helping people to set and reach their goals.

Who is eligible

Food for Change is open to anyone aged 16 or over in Falmouth or the surrounding area who is not currently in work.

Food for Change is perfect for people who may have been out of the employment for a while, as the programme focuses on confidence building, meeting new people, learning practical skills and exploring different opportunities.
