The Fifteen Cornwall Training Programme is a life-changing mix of training, working, self-development and fun.
If you are aged between 16 and 24, and would like a fresh start or a second chance, then you are just the type of person we are looking for. Take part in our award-winning training programme at Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall.
This challenging, yet inspirational, programme will enable you to gain qualifications and start an exciting new career in food.
The programme is intense. It takes place over the course of 16 months, with four spent at college and a further 12 months in the Fifteen Cornwall kitchen. You’ll work side by side with our team of professional chefs across every section of a commercial kitchen, learning the tricks of the trade and developing your own skills. By graduation, you will have the knowledge and the experience to excel in any kitchen.
“The programme has given me a lot of confidence to go out and try things and I feel more settled with what I want to do with my life.
“My two dreams in life are to cook and to see the world, so I plan to cook my way around the world when I graduate. I like knowledge and I love to learn as much as I can.”
“I’ve learnt I’m better than I thought I was. I can get on with people that I didn’t think I would get on with. I have time for everyone now, doesn’t matter where they are from what were doing before.
“My family think it’s amazing how quickly I went from being one person to another and how it has changed me.”
“The programme is so much more than what you read and it’s opened up a lot of opportunities for me.
“If someone was thinking of applying to Fifteen, I would say do it, definitely do it. It’s so worth it and you get so many experiences out of it.”
The trainee chefs are the beating heart of Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall restaurant.
Cohort 14 started with Fifteen Cornwall in April 2019 following four months at Cornwall College. They now embark on an incredible, action-packed 12 months in the kitchen, where at the end they will become fully-fledged professional chefs.
You will get paid the national minimum wage, we will also pay you tips and help provide support towards travel costs.
Our welfare support programme is there to help you with any challenges you may face inside or outside of the kitchen, working with you to help you succeed.
We’ll help you push past your comfort zone and open your eyes to amazing food, hands-on training from professional chefs, trips to visit our suppliers and a truly inspirational environment to work in.
