Current Job Opportunities:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to take on the role of Apprentice Administrator for the Cornwall Food Foundation.
The main purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to the to the Foundation team, contributing to the smooth running of the Foundation’s professional and community training programmes.
You will be the first point of contact within the organisation for both staff and visitors, dealing with incoming telephone calls from a wide range of people on a daily basis.
Examples of other duties include:
- HR administration for Apprentices including apprentice pay, written communications, filing, recording attendance and tracking annual leave.
- Complete bulk mail-out and photocopying tasks, support to project development and or events as required.
- Maintain databases and spreadsheets relevant to the work of the team ensuring all paper and electronic records are accurate and up to date.
- Purchasing of goods and services within company procedure and guidelines. For example:
a) Office consumables such as stationary and drinking water
b) Transport for apprentices and the Foundation team
- Ensuring the office and training suite is kept tidy, clean and an organised working environment.
What skills do you need:

- Good computer and Microsoft Office experience

- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to work as part of a team
Location: Cornwall Food Foundation, Watergate Bay, Newquay
Training will be arranged with a suitable apprenticeship provider.
Hours: 37.5 hours a week, 9am – 5pm (flexible to accommodate training time)

Food for Change Programme
Salary: £16, 000 – £18,000 depending on experience
We are looking for an experienced Programme Administrator with a background in supporting European Social Fund programmes.
Food for Change will inspire people through food and enable those in greatest need to achieve meaningful change. We will do this through training, employment and better life opportunities, while adding real value to the local economy.
Food for Change is an initiative of the Cornwall Food Foundation in partnership to drive systemic change in Cornwall’s food system. Food for Change will build four locality-based partnerships in Redruth, Truro, St Austell and Newquay. These partnerships will enable users of foodbanks and mental health and other social services to address barriers to their active inclusion in the economy. The partnerships will foster new ways of working and effect lasting change in local community infrastructure as well as enabling 278 participants to progress into, or closer to, work.
Who we are looking for
Under the direction of the ESF Programme Manager, the successful candidate will oversee the administration of the programme, supporting the programme team to meet full ESF compliance, including procurement rules and financial claims.
The post holder will achieve this by;
- Working closely with the programme team to ensure all participant paperwork is completed accurately and within required timescales
- Ensure the relevant data is received and processed for financial claims
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with partners and all others supporting the programme.
The post holder will need relevant experience in dealing with ESF compliance and comprehensive data management. They will need to demonstrate experience of prioritising workloads, managing their own times and meeting deadlines. Experience of setting up systems, using excel or other data bases to maintain records and extract reports as required is desirable.
The post will require rigorous and robust evidencing for ESF reporting against specific targets. Ideally the successful candidate will have worked on a project requiring social innovation at some level.
The post holder will be based in the Cornwall Food Foundation’s new office in Truro working within a 4 person team. This is a full-time role, with the expectation of attending external meetings and at times, working from the Cornwall Food Foundation head office at Watergate Bay.

The Cornwall Food Foundation is best known for managing the Fifteen Apprentice Programme and Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall restaurant. The Foundation also engages people in need through a community cooking programme focusing on health, wellbeing and employment.

The fixed term contract is until 30th November 2019, with the possibility of this being extended if further funding is secured.
