This extends from our apprentice chefs in Fifteen Cornwall’s kitchen through to all the passionate people we have working in a multitude of positions across the organisation.

 

Community Food Assistant

This is a fantastic new role supporting the Community Food Manager and Food and Nutrition worker in the delivery of community food activities. The key task for this post are:

  • Supporting the delivery of our community cooking courses and food enterprise courses
  • Delivering small engagement events such as workshops at local community events or wellbeing sessions
  • Organising relevant resources and equipment for all community food activities
  • Supporting the development of participants and volunteers in gaining skills and knowledge to enable them to overcome barriers and make positive change in their life.

The Cornwall Food Foundation is best known for managing the Fifteen Apprentice Programme and Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall restaurant. The Foundation also engages people in need through a variety of community food initiatives focusing on health, wellbeing and employment, this post will focus on delivery within this area.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate excellent cooking skills, good awareness of hygiene and safety procedures in a kitchen environment, as well as genuine interest in food as a catalyst for change in people’s lives is vital.

The post holder will be based in the Cornwall Food Foundation’s new office in Truro. As it is a delivery based role the successful candidate will be expected to work across Cornwall for a large proportion of their time. You will need a clean driving license and be available to work outside of normal working hours. Applications will also need to be able to load and unload cooking equipment from a vehicle into workshop venues on a daily basis.

Terms

  • Fixed Term Contract until 30 November 2019
  • Hours: 37.5 hours a week.
    (This post is working across our Big Lottery/ESF Building Better Opportunities (BBO) and European Social Fund contracts plus other grant funded projects as required).
  • Salary: £19,500 pro rata

Project Coordinator

We have an exciting opportunity for a project coordinator to join the Foundation team. You will be responsible for coordinating, delivering and building projects of varying size and complexity including the Building Better Opportunities (BBO) project (funded by the European Social Fund and Big Lottery Fund.)

The Cornwall Food Foundation is best known for managing the Fifteen Apprentice Programme and Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall restaurant. The Foundation also engages people in need through a variety of community food initiatives focusing on health, wellbeing and employment, this post will focus on building and expanding our delivery within this area.

To be successful in this role, you will have solid experience of project coordination and delivery on grant funded projects, ideally where you have really made a difference in people’s lives. You will also have excellent communication skills, good attention to detail, strong systems knowledge and the ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with partners and stakeholders.
